The major concern with " made in India" is reliability. One cannot afford break downs in battle

That is a concern with imported weapons systems as well. To give an example, the IR sensors on the Spike ATGM failed user trials in Rajasthan. To label all "Made in India" products as somehow less reliable than all imported products is incorrect.

My observation is based on experience with even small things that fail the soldiers, Boot DMS sole opened up from an entire lot provided to a rifle company! BPJs which failed us and caused deaths ! It's not about the product as much as it is about corruption , cost cutting which lowers quality and a lack of pride as well as National Character.

Beyond this, there shall be no further discussion on the subject. To me it's less about money and more about National Interest.

Are you quite certain all this applies to the Tata WhAP? Cost-cutting happens everywhere, unless you pay premium prices, and then you're left with very little for other Capex.

Saying it's less about money and more about National Interest misses the point: Money is essential to securing the National Interest, otherwise the Armed Forces will forever have to select 1 or 2 out of the 5 weapons systems they need because they're importing them and there isn't enough money for all 5.

Make in India is absolutely desirable and so is National Character!

As far as money is concerned, if the Government has the right vision and responsibility towards National Interest, there will be sufficient funds.

Defence Industry themselves will generate funds too.

I wrote about this in 1986!

As far as quality goes, the forces will not and should not accept anything just because it is cheap or just because it is made in India.

Again, where is the data supporting your assertion that the WhAP is of poor quality?

And saying there will be sufficient funds is like saying “Just rub Alladin’s lamp and ask the genie for a gazillion dollars.” Utterly unrealistic.
